This morning, EA announced that a four-player co-op mode called “Onslaught” is “coming soon” to the five-million-selling first-person shooter; it’s the first time that a consoleBattlefieldgame has had co-op. In Onslaught mode, you can team up with up to three buddies against “the enemy” — that wording makes us think that this is a “survival” mode where you’ll have to complete objectives while facing waves of AI enemies....

Electronic Arts’ upcoming “buddy-touching simulator,”Army of Two, has been given a firm June 01, 2025 release date for both North America and Europe. Army of Twois a true cooperative third-person shooter, focusing on “two-man missions, two-man strategies, two-man tactics and a two-man advantage.” This is also the first third-person action game that I know of where you’re able to have your character rock some air guitar....

Electronic Arts has confirmed thatBattlefield 3will ship on two DVDs when released for the Xbox 360 — one disc will house the game’s co-op levels and multiplayer mode, while the other will feature the “superb” single-player campaign. The game is a huge beast, but it’s not too big for Blu-ray, with the PS3 version requiring only a single disc. News like this should hardly come as a shock to gamers anymore, as the biggest titles have all started to outgrow DVDs....
